Believe it or not, now is the time to start thinking about attending RUF Summer Conference 2009 in Laguna Beach, FL! The dates for this year's conference are May 18-23, the week AFTER Lindenwood's finals are over this year. Which is great, because in years past, it has always fallen during finals week.

There is only space for 900 students, and they will fill up fast. So the sooner you get signed up, the better.

The deadline for signup is April 18, the cost is $280, and you will get a free RUF Summer Conference T-Shirt if sign up by that date. After that date, no T-Shirt and the cost bumps up to $320. So you're definitely going to want to sign up before April 18 if you can. Here's the link:

Room Change for Spring Semester

Large Group will be meeting in Spellman 3015 this semester, so don't show up at Roemer looking for us. We won't be there! Everything else will be otherwise the same though, 8 p.m. Tuesday nights. Hope to see you there!

Our Topic for the Year...

We are studying the book of Romans this year, considering what it has to say about the world that we live in and what our lives are for. We will be using a study guide developed by Tim Keller. Keller is the pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan, New York. He is also the author of a recent book, The Reason for God, which spent time at #6 on the New York Times best-seller list.

Keller is great at presenting a high level of thought in language that us common folks can understand, and his communication style has proven to resonate strongly with the college generation. A free copy of the Romans study will be available for anyone who would like it. Please join us...

Welcome back to school for another year of college! If you are a freshman, we are especially excited that you are here - welcome to Lindenwood! It's going to be a great year at RCF... here are a few things you should know:

- There is a campus-wide activity fair on Tues, Sep 2 from 10-2:00. Please consider stopping by for an hour or so to check us out.

- Tues, Sep 9 we will begin RCF Large Group for the semester. We will meet at 7:30, room is TBA. Though we will continue to be a place where students can come to really be exposed to the meat of God's Word, the meetings will have a bit more of a conversational feel this year. The time will be structured by a leader, but you will have the opportunity to interact with the ideas a little more. Several semesters ago we worked through a Tim Keller Bible study on Galatians - we got so much positive feedback that we are going to do another one of his studies this year.

We will be focusing together on the book of Romans. It doesn't get any more core than this. Romans is Paul's magnum opus, the richest, most fascinating and God-saturated letter ever written. If you want to sit down and look the Gospel squarely in the face, in all of its grace and mercy, this will be your chance. You will have the chance to receive a free copy of the Tim Keller study and work through it together with us - yet visitors will be able to join in at any time without any previous context. And of course we will continue to have great music.
